Job Description

Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.

The Role

The Program Support, Issuing Programs will work with Program Managers to support critical deposit-holding or issuing partners to manage the complexity of the FinTech relationships while balancing the strategic priorities across the partnership.

The Program Support, Issuing Programs role will partner with Program Managers on our Issuing team to ensure smooth delivery of issuing products and deposit programs, including Cash App Card, Square Card, and other critical Issuing programs. You'll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day project initiatives, surfacing risks, and driving progress across internal and external stakeholders. This individual contributor leader will enable our strategic Program Managers to focus on priorities by managing the details that keep programs on track.

You Will

    • Manage day-to-day project-level initiatives—from scoping and planning to execution and reporting
    • Help develop, track, and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as it relates to bank partnerships and programs
    • Develop, standardize, and implement AI to refine Program Management day-to-day functions, including program changes across multiple bank partners
    • Communicate status, priorities, and action items clearly and proactively to Program Managers and stakeholders
    • Evaluate incoming requests and problems; prioritize autonomously and guide them to resolution
    • Coordinate with product, engineering, risk, legal, compliance, and operations teams to progress deliverables
    • Track timelines, milestones, dependencies, and decisions; escalate blockers as needed
    • Prepare and maintain program documentation, including decks, requirements, and process flows
    • Identify risks and opportunities; suggest mitigation plans and process improvements
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners and external vendors or banking partners

You Have

    • 5+ years of experience in program support, project coordination, or similar role, preferably in fintech or payments
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and deliver quality results under tight timelines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences
    • Strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging with senior leaders and external partners
    • Detail-oriented mindset; proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Confluence) and advanced Excel skills
    • Analytical problem-solving abilities and a continuous-improvement attitude

Nice to Have

    • Experience with Issuing Programs (credit, debit, prepaid)
    • Familiarity with regulatory and banking compliance standards
