THE WORK:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Regulatory Compliance Director to join Ripple’s growing Legal & Compliance team. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Regulatory Licensing Execution: Support the development and execution of Ripple’s global licensing and registration initiatives for both traditional payments and crypto activities, including coordinating internal workstreams and external advisors.
    • Regulatory Engagement: Act as a key liaison with supervisory teams at Ripple’s regulators. Prepare for, attend, and follow up on regulatory meetings and supervisory reviews alongside senior compliance leadership.
    • Regulatory Change Management: Monitor and assess changes to applicable regulations across jurisdictions; ensure internal processes and controls remain aligned with regulatory expectations.
    • Business Advisory: Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance to internal partners on licensing and regulatory compliance matters, enabling product launches, acquisitions, and market expansion in a compliant manner.
    • Regulatory Compliance Program Support: Assist in enhancing Ripple’s regulatory compliance program by contributing to policy development, training, monitoring, and risk assessments as needed.
    • Ad Hoc Regulatory Assignments: Lead or support high-priority regulatory compliance-related projects and investigations as assigned by the Senior Director or broader Legal & Compliance leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; JD, LLM, or relevant advanced degree preferred.
    • 12+ years of proven experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within financial services, fintech, or crypto/digital assets. Previous experience at a financial services regulatory body preferred.
    • Proven experience managing regulatory relationships and contributing to licensing or registration efforts globally.
    • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to payments, money transmission, digital assets, and blockchain technologies.
    • Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives across geographies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory topics clearly and concisely.
    • Prior experience working at or engaging closely with financial regulators.
    • Experience supporting crypto or virtual asset service provider (VASP) licensing in multiple jurisdictions
