The Institutional Product Group enables the foundations of Coinbase's institutional business supporting thousands of large financial institutions. We enable institutions to custody their digital assets and participate in the crypto economy in a secure and safe way. We take pride in building a scalable & secure crypto platform supporting hundreds of assets and enabling crypto participation with staking, governance and web3 gateways. The team has interesting work on building cutting-edge crypto technologies, scalable infrastructure and UI surfaces across web, mobile and browser extensions in a fast-paced industry with an opportunity to build several new initiatives

As a key member of the Market Data Analytics team, you’ll play a critical role in building and operating a large scale data platform to store, analyze and distribute both historical and real-time data for multiple crypto exchanges. You’ll take ownership of architecture, engineering and runtime of the data warehouse to service numerous critical solutions for both internal and external data consumption, strengthening our position as a global leader in digital asset trading.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

Building and running a critical data platform from database management, data pipelining, scaling and data distribution to APIs and frontend solutions

Design and implement core trading platform components, market data and derived data solutions and enable new products and order types

Collaborate with engineers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our vision into a tangible deliverables every quarter

Ingest, manage and deliver internal and external crypto data for client access, frontend display and large scale analytics

Provide support to Exchange operations and other engineering teams

Mentor team members and help uplift the technical skill set across the team

What we look for in you:

You have at least 5+ years of experience in software engineering.

You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.

You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.

You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Nice to haves:

You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from startup to mid-size).

You've worked with SQL, Clickhouse, Java, Kotlin, Python.

You've built low latency trading systems.

You’ve built financial, high reliability systems.
