The Role

The Senior Marketing Manager - Co-marketing will be the strategic driver of high-impact, integrated co-marketing programs with Afterpay's merchant partners large and small. This role is for a strong marketing strategist, who can blend creative thinking, commercial acumen and data-driven decision making to deliver measurable results.

Reporting to the Trade & Partner Marketing Director, you'll work autonomously to own and grow a portfolio of merchants from top brands in Australia, New Zealand and China, leading integrated marketing initiatives that deliver to joint business objectives. As part of the Partner Marketing team you'll collaborate with your colleagues across visual merchandising and trade marketing activity and projects. You'll be adept at influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally, and confident in steering complex projects from idea through to execution and measurement.

You Will

    • Shape Afterpay's co-marketing strategy & best practice: Drive the evolution of our co-marketing approach across the ANZ market, establishing frameworks and methodologies that become the gold standard for merchant collaboration. Your strategic insights will influence how we engage with merchants on a local and global scale.
    • Own Strategic Merchant Relationships: Architect and lead marketing strategies with influential brands (Uber, David Jones, IKEA, Jetstar, Ampol & others), transforming these relationships to drive mutual success.
    • Develop & Execute Integrated Marketing Plans: Build multi-channel campaigns across digital, in-store, paid, and owned channels, leveraging data, insights, and customer behaviour to inform decision-making.
    • Lead Campaigns End-to-End: Take complete ownership from initial spark to final measurement, oversee campaign planning, creative development, internal/external stakeholder alignment, and results measurement.
    • Negotiate & Influence: Secure partner investment and alignment on campaign strategy, assets, and timelines, influencing at senior levels to achieve the best outcomes for Afterpay and our partners.
    • Budget Management: Own and optimise the co-marketing budget for your portfolio, ensuring ROAS through effective resource allocation.
    • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Introduce new ideas, pilot emerging formats, and run test-and-learn programs to enhance campaign impact and efficiency.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (sales, marketing, compliance, legal, product, service, & others) to ensure seamless and compliant execution.
    • Campaign Reporting: Across all co-marketing initiatives, establishing frameworks for rapid experimentation, performance assessment, and scaling of successful approaches to maximize campaign impact and efficiency.
