THE WORK:
The Customer Onboarding Platform at Ripple is where every customer journey begins — the foundation for how we activate, verify, and build trust with our customers. It’s a horizontal capability powering onboarding and compliance workflows across Ripple’s entire product suite, from Payments to Custody to Stablecoin.
We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team that will design, deliver, and scale this platform for Ripple’s next chapter of growth. You’ll operate at the intersection of platform engineering, vendor integration, and cross-product orchestration, ensuring Ripple can move faster, meet regulatory requirements, and deliver a seamless first experience to customers.
This is a high-leverage leadership role: you will evolve and scale the onboarding platform, migrate workflows off legacy systems, and deliver the capabilities that make Ripple’s customer experiences secure, compliant, and ready to scale worldwide.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead and grow the team – Hire, develop, and coach a high-performing engineering team dedicated to Customer Onboarding.
- Deliver trusted onboarding workflows – Partner with Product, Compliance, and other engineering teams to design onboarding capabilities that accelerate customer activation while meeting regulatory standards.
- Integrate best-in-class vendors – Own the orchestration and service layers that connect vendors like Persona for KYC/KYB to Ripple’s core systems.
- Modernize onboarding systems – Drive the migration of onboarding logic from legacy platforms into scalable, engineering-owned services.
- Build for global scale – Enable onboarding flows that meet diverse regulatory requirements and operational needs across multiple geographies.
- Define technical strategy – Execute a roadmap balancing near-term business delivery with long-term platform durability.
- Champion excellence – Set the bar for reliability, testing, security, observability, and operational practices.
- Proven track record as a Senior Engineering Manager (or equivalent) leading backend or platform teams delivering complex, distributed systems.
- Domain expertise in onboarding, KYC/KYB, regtech, or compliance-heavy platforms — with hands-on delivery of mission-critical workflows.
- Experience integrating major vendors into platform architectures while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance.
- Strength in guiding teams through complex migrations and legacy decoupling.
- Skilled at aligning diverse stakeholders — across engineering, product, compliance, and legal — into a coherent technical strategy.
