Job Description

At Ripple, we’re building a world where value moves like information does today. It’s big, it’s bold, and we’re already doing it. Through our crypto solutions for financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers, we are improving the global financial system and creating greater economic fairness and opportunity for more people, in more places around the world. And we get to do the best work of our career and grow our skills surrounded by colleagues who have our backs.

If you’re ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.

THE WORK:

The Financial Crimes Engineering team at Ripple builds the systems that protect our products and customers against fraud, sanctions risk, and financial crime. This is a high-leverage platform team responsible for delivering the integrations, orchestration, and observability that ensure Ripple operates safely, securely, and compliantly across the globe.

We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow this team as it enters its next chapter. You’ll operate at the intersection of platform engineering, vendor integration, and global compliance — ensuring Ripple can scale with confidence in a regulated industry.

This is a pivotal leadership role: you will guide the team’s strategy, shape its culture, and deliver the vendor integrations and service layers that make Ripple’s financial crime defenses robust, reliable, and trusted worldwide.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Lead and grow the team – Hire, develop, and coach a high-performing engineering team dedicated to financial crimes prevention systems, defining its culture and ways of working.
    • Deliver trusted integrations – Partner with Compliance, Product, and other engineering teams to identify leading vendor platforms for sanctions screening, fraud detection, and AML.
    • Engineer for scale – Own the orchestration and observability frameworks that make these vendor tools enterprise-ready at Ripple scale.
    • Drive technical strategy – Define and execute a roadmap balancing near-term delivery with long-term architectural durability.
    • Champion excellence – Set standards for security, reliability, and operational rigor across financial crimes engineering.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

    • Proven track record as a Senior Engineering Manager (or equivalent) leading backend or platform teams delivering distributed systems at scale.
    • Experience integrating major third-party vendor platforms into mission-critical architectures.
    • Strength in building systems that meet regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements in fintech, regtech, or other complex domains.
    • Ability to align diverse stakeholders — across engineering, product, and compliance — into a coherent technical strategy.
    • Proven success building and growing high-performing teams.
    • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS), and event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS, etc.).
For positions that will be based in CA, the annual salary range for this position is below. Actual salaries may vary based on numerous factors including, among other things, an individual applicant’s experience and qualifications for the position. This range does not include equity or additional compensation, such as bonuses or commissions.
